What is the perya color game?

The color game is the most recognisable table at any Filipino perya — the travelling carnival that rolls into town for the fiesta. A board is divided into six colours: red, green, blue, yellow, white and pink. Three cubes, each carrying those same six colours on their faces, are shaken and rolled. Whichever colours land face up are the winners, and how much you collect depends on how many of the three cubes show your colour.

If you grew up in the Philippines, you already know the sound of it — the rattle of the cubes, the crowd leaning in, someone shouting for green. Perya Color Game is a free Android version of that table, built to be played the same way it always was: together, for fun, with everyone crowded around one screen.

Host your own perya at home

You do not need to wait for the fiesta. Pass the phone around the room and let each person call their colour, or hand it to whoever wants to run the table — the game keeps track of everything, so the only thing left to do is enjoy the reaction when the cubes settle.

It works for the situations a perya usually fills: a family gathering, a long trip, a rainy afternoon, a reunion where the kids have never actually seen a color game table. Color King Slingshot adds local multiplayer for when more than one person wants a turn, and Free Roll lets younger players get a feel for the cubes with nothing on the line.

How to play the color game

Tap a colour on the board to back it. You can pick a single colour or spread your points across several, and you can adjust each one before the roll.

When the board looks right, roll. Three cubes tumble across the table under real physics — no predetermined outcome — and come to rest showing three colours.

Every colour you picked that lands face up returns your points plus one more payout for each matching cube. Pick a colour that shows on two cubes and you collect twice; pick one that shows on none and those points go back to the table. That simplicity is exactly why the game has lasted at Filipino fiestas for generations — a five-year-old can follow it, and so can a lola.

Free Roll mode lets you practise with nothing at stake, and you can change the number of cubes, the board layout, and the physics material — wood, rubber or bouncy — just to watch how they tumble.

Seven game modes in one carnival

Classic Color Game is the traditional six-colour table with three physics cubes and a shared balance of points that carries across every other mode.

Free Roll is the no-stakes sandbox: configurable cube counts, board layouts and physics materials for anyone who just wants to roll.

Color Drop sends a coloured ball tumbling down a pegged board, Plinko-style, to whichever colour it lands in.

Color Race lines up six coloured racers and lets physics decide the finishing order — first past the post takes it.

Color King Slingshot is a slingshot scoring mode you can play solo or hand around the room, in the spirit of the shooting stalls at a real perya.

Money Tower is a timed block-stacking challenge — drop each block cleanly and the tower keeps climbing.

Freeroam Perya Defense is the one nobody expects: a full open-world 3D carnival you can walk around, taking on missions and defending the color game block against waves of enemies, with weapon upgrades and a companion drone.

Family-friendly by design

Everything in Perya Color Game is played with fictional points that exist purely for fun. There is no real money anywhere in the app — no in-app purchases, nothing to deposit or withdraw, and no cash or physical prizes to win. Every player starts with the same balance, and if it runs out you simply reset it and keep playing.

That is a deliberate design choice, not a disclaimer. The point of the color game at a perya was never the money; it was the crowd around the table. Perya Color Game is built for ages 12 and up as casual entertainment, so it is safe to hand to anyone in the room.
